winos.lol (“we”, “us”) is a social wine product operated at https://winos.lol. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, progressive web app, and future native iOS and Android apps.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, password or magic-link credentials, profile photo, and preferences you set.
• Relationship data: partner pairing, couple profile settings, and shared spaces you create with another person.
• Product content: wine scans and photos you upload, cellar items, tasting notes, ratings, memories, lists, and social posts.
• Location: approximate or precise location only when you enable discovery or venue features. Exact location is never public by default.
• Device and usage: app version, device type, crash diagnostics, and analytics events that help us understand feature use.
• Waitlist: email addresses submitted before launch, stored for launch communication only.
• Payments: web subscriptions are processed by Paddle. We receive subscription status and limited billing metadata; we do not store full card numbers. Native App Store / Play purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms.

How we use information

• Provide and improve scanning, cellar, social, and couple features.
• Authenticate you, secure accounts, and prevent abuse.
• Send transactional email (sign-in, pairing invites, billing notices).
• Process subscriptions and fulfill paid features.
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not sell personal information.

Visibility and sharing

Profiles, couple profiles, cellars, tastings, memories, location, and activity each support visibility controls such as Private, Partner, Friends, or Public. Relationship data is never exposed publicly without an explicit setting. Content you mark public may be visible to other users and indexed where we provide public pages.

We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Cloudflare (hosting, database, storage, AI inference, security).
• Paddle (web payments and tax handling).
• Apple and Google (native app distribution and in-app purchases).
• Email and analytics vendors we disclose here when added.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or asset transfer with notice where required.

Retention

We keep account and product data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and restore backups. Waitlist emails are retained until launch communications complete or you ask us to delete them.

Your choices and rights

• Update profile and visibility settings in the app.
• Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing hello@winos.lol.
• Delete your account from Settings (or email us if the control is unavailable). Deletion removes or de-identifies personal content subject to legal retention and backup cycles.
• Opt out of non-essential analytics where controls are offered.

Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, and certain US states), you may have additional rights such as portability, restriction, or objection. Contact us to exercise them.

Children

winos.lol is intended for adults who meet the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age or under 18, whichever is higher. Contact us to remove any such data.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to a consumer cloud app, including encrypted transport and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

International transfers

We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.
